What the hell is so advanced and cutting edge about a 2.5D, non-polygonal graphics engine that it needs these "latest & greatest" DX9 capabilities? It's a card game it's not Destiny, ffs. THAT computer can run Shadow Era, but a desktop cannot, even though technically even though the desktop video card is older, and only DX8, not DX9, it still is far more powerful than the little onboard DX9 Intel GPU in that netbook.īuuuut, Shadow Era needs some new DX9 effects to display properly.

On the other hand, my girlfriend's janky ass (but newer) netbook w a Celeron 1.6ghz CPU and onboard Intel GPU and 1gb of RAM. That system renders games like From Dust beaitifully, so it HAS some horsepower. But, realistically, it should be strong enough to animate and render a damn card game. I had this issue at one point when I temporarily switched back to an older comp with a P4 Xtreme 3.73GHz CPU (Prescott, I think), 4gb system RAM, AGP 8x video card - an nvidia GX440 with 512mb VRAM, I think? That's a fairly old card, and by today's standards it's only barely functional for basic computer usage. Well you can't download free TV shows but you can get Freeview and with the digital switchover it is cheaper For a Freeview box it is around £ 20.
